Editorial policy
What we will and will not publish, where every number comes from, and how often each page is checked again.
Independence
Row & Recover accepts no sponsored placements, no paid rankings, no advertorial, and no free product from any manufacturer. No brand has ever sent us anything and none has paid for a position on any page.
We earn an affiliate commission when a reader buys through an Amazon link here. That commission does not influence which machines we recommend or the order we recommend them in, and there are two checkable pieces of evidence for that claim:
- We cover three machines — the Peloton Row, the Ergatta and the Rogue Echo Rower — that are direct-to-consumer only and earn us nothing at all.
- Every machine on the site carries a “skip this one if” line written to be genuinely disqualifying, including on the machines we recommend most strongly.

Sourcing standard
Every factual claim carries a source, or it does not ship.
By claim type
Where each kind of number comes from

We never cite:our own memory; an unnamed “study”; an aggregator’s unsourced figure; or another review site’s spec table without a manufacturer source behind it.
Every page ends with a Sources block listing URLs and access dates, and every page displays when it was last verified.

Getting it wrong
Corrections
We will get things wrong. Specifications get misread, manufacturers revise figures without announcement, and machines get discontinued.
When we do: tell us, ideally with the manufacturer link. We check it against the source, correct the page, and update its last-verified date. Where a correction changes a recommendation or a material figure we note the change on the page rather than quietly editing it.
Reports go to info@rowandrecover.com, which a person reads.
Hard limits
What we will never publish
- A testing claim. We have not tested these machines. No page will ever say we have, and no schema on this site emits a review rating.
- An invented reader review or testimonial.Row & Recover has no customers to review it and publishes none. Not to fill a layout, not for any reason.
- A credential nobody here holds.No CPT, no CSCS, no “medically reviewed by”, no “our expert panel”.
- An estimated specification. Where a manufacturer does not publish a figure, we print that it is not published.
- A price we cannot verify right now. Prices expire on their own after 48 hours rather than being carried forward.
- Medical advice. Several pages touch on knees, backs and heart rate. Nobody here is qualified to advise on any of them, and each such page says so.
Use of AI
How these pages are written
Drafting on this site is AI-assisted. The editorial judgments — which machines to cover, how to rank them, what to say is wrong with each one — are made by a person, and every factual figure is traced to a published source before it ships.
We mention it because the alternative is pretending otherwise, and because the reason to trust a page here was never the byline. It is that every number carries a link and a date, and the method that produced it is published. That is checkable regardless of who or what typed it.
